New Moon in Cancer
With every new moon, we see new ideas, new thoughts and new ways of being surfacing,
This cancer new moon is super special because it blends with the Summer solstice and mid summers day energy.
The summer solstice is when the hours of day light are at their longest and when we thank the Gods for the warmth sun, & Mother Nature to help ripen our grains ready for the harvest and then the winter nights
The Solstice will show up what’s real and what’s not. What is inspiring you to be or do what you’ve wanted – this is the new energy that’s shining on your now to light your fire and crack on with those exciting ideas.
The Cancer new moon is a sensitive crazy one. The combined Solstice and Eclipse energy may bring dramatic & sudden changes to our lives, as if we haven’t had enough disruption for one year! But this is not all bad, we are now experiencing an energetic re set, a new era where the whole planet is re booting. You may find you are stepping more into your own power, this will result in endings and new begging for relationships. Making peace with the past will become more important now. Major come backs and break throughs, perfect timing for those going back to their works and businesses. You may find you feel more realignment with yourself and nature now than ever before. With the cancer moon here, this will impact your home life and family lives but doesn’t have to be negative, =remember the power of a new moon – you can create your reality – use this wisely!
Cancerians are typically family connected. This new moon asks you to look at your family, check in with them , how fabulous that it also fails on fathers day. Honour your parents, your siblings and family members and those that feel like family to you. Look at your home, have you been tending to it more lately- without realising its a cancer new moon, Ive had several rooms redecorated last week! Your home should feel secure, safe and comfortable. If it are not in love with it, use this new moon energy to fluff it up a little.
If you need to get in touch with your loved ones do it now. For those that have passed, sit in a peaceful place with a candle, some photos or a raise a drink to the happy memories.
Check in on yourself and your own insecurities, in my face book group next week (Kate May Modern Day Mystic) we are looking at shadow work, us this new moon in cancer to bring down that defence barrier, try to release any moodiness or control – let the new moon light you up and see the bright side of things
Cancerians are known for nurturing their loved ones, take some time to nurture yourself, have a warm bubble bath, eat some good food, cuddle up with someone or a big fluffy cushion! If you have pets this will be a great time to spend some time just stroking them. Encourage children to do the same, Normally I would encourage hugging but in this time of Covid 19 I best not encourage that! Hug yourself though!
As we are half way through the year new is a good time to check in with your goals and hopes for the year. Even with the strange changes we have had to embrace lately , its probably even more important to have a re check and re set your goals.
The Tarot card that connects to Cancer for me is the Chariot.
The Chariot is my favourite card and it shows victory over adversity. Although emotions may run high, as with most big moon phases, staying focused, this card reminds us we can still achieve our goals. this card is a travel card and brings a sense of coming’s home with good results. Feeling in control without having to crack the whip!
If you have an Alter, look at placing happy family photos on it, yellow or red candles, for fire element of the Solstice, Citrine crystal for happiness green aventurine for nurturing and you could write a few nw ideas or hopes you want to see come to fruition. The tarot cards you could place could be the chariot, the sun and the Empress or 10 of cups – really though it should be your own intent and ideas for the highest magical power.
