May/June Diary of a Mystic
What a busy couple of months it has been, and summer is finally here! May kicked off with our fabulous annual trip to Arthur Findlay College, the ultimate spiritual home. Each year, I find myself making more friends, and next year, I plan to stay for the full three days to fully immerse myself in the workshops, history, and socialising! So wonderful to see the amazing friend and mentor Mavis Pitilla picture in pride of place.
Shortly after, I celebrated my 49th birthday at the Old Thorns spa retreat, a wonderfully relaxing spot where I got to unwind with Mr. Flaaa. Another highlight of my birthday was spending a delightful day at the garden centre with my mum, spa days and flowers make the perfect combination!
Horse racing has been a part of our family for as long as I can remember, and I love spending a day at the races, not just to see these beautiful creatures compete, but also to dress up for the occasion! I tend to avoid the larger races, though. The National feels too chaotic and unsafe for my taste. Goodwood, on the other hand, has a wonderfully relaxing vibe. The weather was gorgeous, and we dressed up for our annual coach trip. I’m not much of a gambler but I do enjoy the atmosphere!
As summer approaches, it’s been fantastic to reconnect with friends and embrace my inner social butterfly, a refreshing change from the usual workdays! However, On the work front, I’m thrilled with the success of my Astro cards, they’re now ready and available! Additionally, my “Tarot and Tools” manifesting book is complete and selling in my shop and on Amazon. It feels great to have these projects wrapped up and to be able to enjoy some summer fun!
Switching things up a bit, I attended the London M.B.S. Fayre where I caught up with some wonderful friends and had some interesting conversations with a few publishers interested in my books and cards. Fingers crossed!
June was extra special as Mr. Flaaa and I celebrated our 2nd wedding anniversary, two magical years! Every day, I thank the universe for bringing us together. He truly feels like my perfect match! Since we have a winter holiday planned, we decided to skip a summer family holiday , but we did book a weekend getaway in North Wales. We chose the world’s largest zip line at Zip World. What a weekend! It was amazing, and I highly recommend it. Although I didn’t do the zip line (gotta protect my nails!), Mr. Flaaa and the boys did and loved it. I did try the quarry karts and, even though I crashed, it was still a blast!
We stayed in a lovely Airbnb, which gave us some quality family time before meeting up with friends Lynne and Paul, who moved nearby a few years ago. We were excited to see them and play with Lynne’s new tarot deck. We couldn’t leave without visiting the beach and, of course, the waterfalls. It was an unforgettable trip!
June marked the 80th anniversary of D-Day, and living in Southsea, we felt it was essential to pay tribute. The drone light show was fabulous and incredibly emotional, especially since both my granddads served in the wars. Although I never knew my dad’s father, who served in WWI, I was very close to my mum’s dad. He was in the navy and would regale us with stories about his days at sea.
Family time is precious to me, so it was wonderful to celebrate my niece’s wedding. Everyone looked amazing, especially the bride! Unfortunately, I wasn’t in the best health, battling another bout of tonsillitis, but I was on the mend and still managed to enjoy the celebration.
As the month came to an end, we hosted our Mind Body Spirit Fayre in Hordean. It was a magical event, reaching so many lovely people and allowing me to indulge in one of my favourite activities: readings.
I also celebrated a huge milestone this month, six years at the Coffee Lounge! I can hardly believe it’s been that long. The lounge has gone from strength to strength, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built, including the wonderful community that has formed around it.
Sadly, Karen’s mum passed away last month at the Rowans Hospice. In honour of her birthday this month, we hosted a charity day with a huge raffle, donating all profits from the day to the Rowans. This event garnered local newspaper coverage, making June a busy month for both of us. The fundraising day was a tremendous success, raising over £1,300 for the Rowans Hospice.
As June comes to a close, I have a mix of emotions. we’ve had a few fun days out, the sun is shining at last, im loving my garden vibes and its holiday season! Josh is going away for the first time with his friends, one week in Crete with a group of 12 and then two weeks in Tenerife with another set of friends. As a mum, I’m happy he’s embarking on these adventures, but I know I won’t get much sleep in July! Us mums have set up a chat group to support each other through it all.
To distract myself, I’m planning a few days away in Tuscany with my mum, which will be a wonderful first-time experience for us in Tuscany although weve been to Italy several times together. We also have celebrations as my Ollie turns 15! How did that happen? My wild child is growing up so fast. He made my life complete! A mother’s love knows no boundaries!
